The Core Tap is the central controller for the ImagiQuest system. It hosts the web configuration interface, manages game logic, plays audio, and drives lighting and external outputs when a player taps a station.
The Core Tap serves a built-in web interface you can reach from any phone, tablet, or laptop - no app or software installation required.
Out of the box the Core Tap creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot:
CoreTap-XXXX (XXXX = the last four characters are printed on the device label).http://192.168.4.1The Core Tap Control Panel will load in your browser.
Tip: The status LED on the device will glow cyan when you are connected to the hotspot. See the Status LED guide for all LED meanings.
If the Core Tap has been configured to join an existing Wi-Fi network (see Network Settings), use the IP address assigned by your router instead of 192.168.4.1. The current IP address is shown on the System tab under System Information.
On networks that support local mDNS discovery, you can also connect using the device hostname URL:
http://coretap-XXXX.local (XXXX = the last four hex digits of the device's MAC address, printed on the device label).http://<device-hostname>.local instead.Once connected, the interface is organised into tabs across the top:
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| General | Set the operating mode, station number, tag prefix, and user button actions |
| Tap Actions | Configure what happens (audio, lights, outputs) when a tag is tapped |
| Lighting | Set up the external LED strip hardware and animation parameters |
| Audio | Adjust playback volume and output gain |
| Files | Browse and upload files to the SD card |
| Network | Configure Wi-Fi or hotspot settings |
| Tap Point | Configure the attached NFC reader and its LED patterns |
| System | System information, firmware updates, settings backup, and factory reset |
| Help | Quick reference guide built into the device |
The Identify Device button in the top-right corner causes the device's status LED to scroll through a rainbow of colors so you can confirm which physical unit you are looking at - useful when multiple Core Taps are on the same network.
