The Tap Actions tab defines exactly what happens when a player taps their tag at this station - which audio file plays, what the LED strip does, which outputs turn on, and for how long. The available sections change based on the Mode selected on the General tab.
A banner at the top of the tab shows the currently active mode. Settings displayed below update to match, so you are always configuring the right set of responses.
The Test Activate button in the top-right corner fires the complete action sequence immediately without requiring a tag tap. Use this to preview and fine-tune your audio, lighting, and output timing.
These settings control the LED strip and any always-on outputs while the station is waiting for a tag. They apply regardless of mode.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| LED Pattern | The animation displayed on the LED strip when no tag is present. See Lighting for animation details. |
| LED Color | The primary color for the idle pattern. |
| Idle Output State | Checkboxes for Outputs 1-4. Any checked output will be switched on continuously while the station is idle. |
Triggered when a valid tag is tapped at a Station.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Audio File | The audio file from the SD card to play. Only files on the card appear in this list - see File Manager to upload audio. |
| Audio Start Delay (ms) | How long to wait after activating before starting the audio. Outputs and LEDs start immediately; audio waits this long. Useful for syncing narration with a physical effect. |
| LED Pattern | The animation to display during activation. |
| LED Color | The color for the activation pattern. |
| LED Duration (ms) | How long the activation LED pattern plays before returning to idle. |
| Output On Duration (ms) | How long the selected outputs stay on. |
| Outputs to Activate | Checkboxes for Outputs 1-4. Checked outputs turn on for the duration above. |
In Checkpoint and Finale modes, the response depends on the state of the player's tag. Each state has its own independent audio, LED, and output configuration using the same fields described above.
Played when the tag is valid but has no stations recorded yet (the player has not visited any station in this game session). Use this to welcome a first-time visitor.
Played when the tag has visited at least one station but has not yet collected all required stations. Use this to encourage the player to keep going.
Played when the tag has all required stations checked off. This is the success state - the player has earned their reward.
Played when a tag scans as complete at a Finale but the prize flag is already set - meaning this player already collected their prize in this session. Use this to alert staff that a repeat redemption attempt is occurring.
